Portland Maine has a decent sized airport and is two hours more than Bangor but has recently added flights. Also, in summer there are more flights into Maine than in winter from Detroit, Philly, and Laguardia. Manchester NH which is a major airport is about the same distance as Boston.

Hi everyone, Apologies about the delay in getting conference informationout about the conference at UNB Fredericton in June. The registration page will be available soon and housing options will accompany the registration information.
For registration, we’re looking at $350 Canadian (about $258.36 UScurrently), which willinclude most daytime meals. The dates of the conference are June 21-24, and I suspectmost people will arrive on Tuesday, June 20.
Travel hints for coming to Fredericton:
Fredericton airport (YFC) is a small, regional airport, serviced all day long by flights on Air Canada and Westjet. Most people willmake connections to here in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, or Halifax. If you’recoming into the country from the US or elsewhere, you will clear customs inwhatever airport you initially fly into. This will require you to collect your luggage, clear customs, drop yourbag back again, and then in all likelihood, go back in through domesticsecurity, and make a bit of a walk to where the smaller planes are located. Tobe safe, plan for adequate time on the stopover - I always make sure there’s at least hour and a half, in case it’sbusy. Similarly, if going back into theUS, you will most likely do US customs inside the Toronto or Montrealterminals, so plan on time for that, as well. If you’re flying into Fredericton and want a ride from theairport, please let me know your travel details and we’ll make arrangements. Contact– fmason at unb.ca. Westjet started flying into Fredericton last year, so priceshave come down. However, other airportscould be options if you want to rent a car and drive. Saint John, New Brunswick is 1 hour driveaway; Moncton, NB is 1 ½ hours; Halifax, Nova Scotia is 4 hours. In the US,Bangor, Maine is 3 hours, and Presque Isle, in northern Maine, about 2 hours(check car rental opening times and availability because the airport is tiny). And Boston is about a 7 hour drive if anyone is that adventurous. Please let me know if you have any other questions orconcerns. Looking forward to seeing everyone in June.
