Subject: Conference on Baseball in Literature and Culture CFP

Baseball aficionados,

I have issued a new call for papers for the 25th anniversary Conference on Baseball in Literature and Culture, which you may access with this link:

https://call-for-papers.sas.upenn.edu/cfp/2021/02/02/twenty-fifth-anniversary-conference-on-baseball-in-literature-culture<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcall-for-papers.sas.upenn.edu%2Fcfp%2F2021%2F02%2F02%2Ftwenty-fifth-anniversary-conference-on-baseball-in-literature-culture&data=04%7C01%7Cpwedge%40ku.edu%7C8bf7c9474a694f7d358408d8dd088b57%7C3c176536afe643f5b96636feabbe3c1a%7C0%7C0%7C637502376058623234%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=N8U7kSl8uCgfsh%2BMmP8rILEDP9CMOARqvmTyOWkgeyI%3D&reserved=0>

Feel free to circulate the link to people who may be interested in presenting their work and/or attending the conference, and if you yourself are interested in presenting but haven't come up with a proposal yet, note that you have another two months to do so: the deadline for proposals is April 30. As I stated in an earlier communiqué, we are going to attempt to host this event in person, in mid-July, on the campus of Ottawa University. If the pandemic doesn't abate by then or begins to surge anew, we'll make a decision on whether to hold the conference remotely or to postpone it again. I will keep all of you updated in the coming weeks.

For those of you who were listed as presenters on the canceled program from last year and haven't yet responded to my query about whether you're still interested in presenting this summer, get back to me when you have world enough and time. The link to the original program (from the canceled 2020 event) is here: https://www.ottawa.edu/baseball-conference/agenda<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ottawa.edu%2Fbaseball-conference%2Fagenda&data=04%7C01%7Cpwedge%40ku.edu%7C8bf7c9474a694f7d358408d8dd088b57%7C3c176536afe643f5b96636feabbe3c1a%7C0%7C0%7C637502376058633228%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=1%2FEltyruwvy3iVmLJYAEnbtdfF2JW66%2BPOqljp%2BmPTQ%3D&reserved=0>

We are looking to add to and expand the existing program.

Here's to the hope that we may all see one another in mid-summer, in a vaccinated state, as the baseball season returns us to the idylls (and idols) that sustain us.

Andy
