The above, from U Illinois Press, is available for review.  During the Cold
War gymnastics changed from a women's to a girls sport as it laid the
foundation for a system of abuse of gymnasts around the world. Shifting
from balletic grace to explosive athleticism dominance shifted from East to
West.
