Hi all, I made an error when I sent out handouts recently displaying the scope and sequence for the SIM writing strategies and their relationship to the Common Core Standards. I should have honored the enormous amount of work that was
done to complete those handouts by Peggy Graving, as well as pders in the Riverbank CA School District, like Carla Spyksma. Below is a message that I received from Peggy today. As you can see, she still believes in those handouts! (I do, too! ). Below Peggy’s
message is a message from Carla, too. As you will see, she is volunteering to help Christine in her work, something that characterizes our network so well. Thank you all for continuing to work so well together and help each other!! AND thank you for continuing
to create wonderful handouts and powerpoints and other materials that teachers can use to support their work. You all are AMAZING!! Jean

It’s nice to see that this handout is still being shared! I compiled it for the work at Riverbank, and it was a very valuable tool for creating a solid foundation for both ELA classes and Writing Across the Curriculum in the multiple year
K-12 Writing Project for the district. Its effectiveness relied on its active use in PD sessions with Sped and content areas in Gen Ed.
