<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif;color:black">Hi all! I hope you’re having a great start to summer! I just wanted to be sure that you are aware of the millions of dollars coming to each state through the ESSER (Elementary
and Secondary School Emergency Relief) funds associated with the CARES Act. Some of the funds are meant to be spent by districts on such activities as summer school, small-group tutoring, special education, innovative programs, “catching kids up,” etc. Each
state has its own process of applying. Some states are having districts or schools apply for grants. Some states are just giving each district a pot of money. Of course, I’m thinking that the SIM programs seem to fit really well here! I put together some ideas
that you might suggest to districts on which they can spend their ESSER monies. (Thanks to Tricia Bronger for her feedback on these ideas!) The ideas are attached. They are just meant to act as a springboard for your ideas! Please share your ideas as a response
to this message so we can compile a more thorough list.

have fallen behind. Please be sure to consider the support that the KU-CRL can provide you. Please share with the network how districts in your area are spending their ESSER funds to utilize SIM programs.
