<p class="MsoNormal">Hi all! You may have heard the superintendent of schools in Seattle, WA, on CNN this morning. She was talking about plans for “reopening” in the fall, but she said that they plan to continue remote learning lessons within their plan. Thus,
based on this and other reports, we believe that we need to quickly adapt to this possibility of remote learning in the fall. We know that many students who should have been receiving specialized, intensive instruction did not receive it, and we also expect
that administrators will be looking for ways of instructing students remotely to reduce the COVID-19 Lag. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">To provide teachers with something they can do with students remotely, we (Don and Jean) have been working the past several weeks to make available student materials that teachers can use to teach some of the strategies. We have made pdfs
of single pages from the student materials books or parts of instructor’s manuals that students will need for practicing the strategies. We envision teachers providing lessons live and then sending out a learning sheet, passage, or quiz on which students can
practice the strategy. Students will use the tools on their computers to respond to quizzes or to write sentences on these pages. These pages have been placed on flash drives. Teachers will be able to purchase a flash drive for the prices listed below. The
flash drives should be complete by next week. The materials that will be available and their prices are: <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Please think about how teachers might teach these strategies remotely and consider providing professional development and other supports this summer and fall on how to implement the instruction from a distance. Teachers may need instruction
on how to work with students remotely and how to teach students to use the tools available to them for making responses and sending back their completed products. Please note that in order to purchase these flash drives, educators will need to purchase the
instructor’s manual as well. Of course, if they have already purchased the instructor’s manual, they will be able to purchase the flash drive alone. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">For those of you involved with Xtreme Reading and who have teachers planning to teach Xtreme Reading remotely, we will sell these products on one flash drive with the set of materials that is purchased to launch the program. We will also
