Hello, SIM Professional Developers!

We have a very special opportunity in front of us. This June 14-15, 2022, Dr. Bradley Kaffar and I will be co-hosting an in person Upper Midwest Regional SIM Update Conference at St. Cloud University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Bradley is a Co-Director of the Institute for Strategic Math Interventions at the CRL, a SIM Professional Developer, and university faculty at St. Cloud. This will be the CRL’s first face-to-face SIM conference since early 2020! We do sincerely hope you will be able to join us.

Our agenda includes a keynote focused on math vocabulary and conceptual learning, several breakout sessions on a range of literacy topics applicable to both LS and CER, an Ed Camp protocol for thought exchange, and lots of informal time to get to know each other. If you are not able to join us in person and prefer a virtual SIM update conference option, consider registering for the Northeast SIM Update, which will be a hybrid of asynchronous (through video-recorded sessions in Canvas) and a synchronous live event on July 18th from 9-11 am Central with several opportunities for discussion. Registration for either conference includes two-years of StrateWorks (built into the fee), so by attending the conference you will have active status as a SIM Professional Developer and access to all the online assets this provides for two years. If you are retired or thinking of retiring, we have many opportunities for referrals for SIM work, so join us to renew your active status. Note: We started including StrateWorks in conference fees in 2021.

SIM Specialists (those micro-credentialed in a single CER or LS) and guests (non-SIM Professional Developers, such as teacher leaders, administrators, colleagues) are invited to join us as well.
