Actually, I am hoping that CRL will be a contact for you and for the states. I sent my email too soon and meant to ask the network about contacts that you might share with us. We would like to make contact with states and organizations.
Thank you,
Patty

This is wonderful news!! I encourage anyone with contacts in these states to contact your state department and offer assistance. These projects are required to use empirically validated programs, and you certainly have several great programs to offer in the area of literacy. Please let me know if you need me or anyone else to talk with people in your state. Please let professional developers in the schools in your state know what the application process will be for schools wanting the money. Please give me a call at 785-841-0638 if you would like to chat about possibilities in your state or neighboring state. Thanks! Jean

Hello colleagues,
Have you heard that Striving Reader Awards were made recently? The following states received awards this year, and if direct instruction, explicit instruction, strategic instruction, learning strategies, instructional practices, close reading are a focus, SIM would be useful. Here is a link as well as a list: https://www2.ed.gov/programs/strivingreaders-literacy/awards.html
