Hello Colleagues,
This summer's SIMposium is unique for two reasons. First it is our 30th annual conference! Second, it will be combined with a new conference, the KUCRL Learning Conference. Combining the two will give great latitude in terms of learning, participants, and knowledge sharing. You can attend July 11 & 12,required, for SIM professional developers or July 11-14 for the entire conference experience. Take advantage of this 'choice opportunity' (a Deshlerism) and come to learn from all of the special speakers.
We have prepared a letter that you can share with your employer to request support for attending the 2017 SIMposium and KUCRL Conference. This sample letter may be useful as you write a justification for your attendance and travel.
We encourage you to register and enroll as soon as you can. There is another large conference in Lawrence during the same week, and hotel rooms may be at a premium. Of course, Mona has made arrangements at a number of hotels to hold rooms for you, but those room blocks will be released in early to mid June. Please see our SIM Events Calendar for more information http://sim.kucrl.org/classes/details/the-kucrl-conference-and-simposium.
We have prepared the same type of letter for people who are not a SIM PD. We hope you will spread the word and invite colleagues from your schools.
The January 2017 Stratenotes, sent out this week, has a great deal of information. Do not hesitate call or write to ask questions - simpd at ku.edu
We look forward to seeing you this summer!
Patty, Mona, and Peony
