Happy New Year everyone!
I am looking for either a doc student in need of a dissertation or higher education faculty interested in collaborating with me to validate an intervention I’ve been designing that focuses on teaching students how to evaluate media (text-based articles, social media, information oriented videos) for evidence of author bias / propaganda.
At least two publications should result from this project. The first is publication of the results of the study in a peer-reviewed journal (The person collaborating with me would be 1st author). The second would be commercial publication of the instructional materials validated by the study (e.g., a SIM Learning Strategy manual or and/or Content Enhancement Routine manual). In this case, I would be 1st author followed by the collaborating researcher. Likewise, if the collaborating individual is interested in submitting a grant to fund the research, I can assist with its development if needed.
If you or someone you know might be interested in working with me on this project, please contact me for more information. Edwinellis1 at gmail.com <mailto:Edwinellis1 at gmail.com> (2095) 394-5512.
Further below is a list of 6-12 relevant Common Core ELA Information Reading Standards that the intervention will address.
Best, Ed Ellis
