Good morning,
Love the sharing! The listserv is a being used exactly as we hope.  When you are replying, would you please observe the following:


  1.  Be sure the subject matches your question. If you change the topic of the emial, please change the subject line as well. This will save confusion later as people check into their archives. We archive as well, so having a Subject Line that matches the topic allows us to reshare later as people ask.
  2.  If you have a response to a specific person that might not be for the entire list, please respond directly to  that person. Unless feelings have changed, a large number of members of the list asked not to receive all of the messages as their mailboxes were filling up. At that time, we agreed to reply to the sender and to simpd at ku.edu and pgraner at ku.edu. That way, we can share the information as people ask.
  3.  Also, see the email below that Mona sent a little over a week ago if you need to make a change to your listserv email:

Hey-lo.  I simplified the prototype announcement email about the change in simtrainer-L that KU IT provided below.  See what you think.

Hello SIM Trainer L List Serve Subscribers,

KU Information Technology has notified us that they are introducing a new and easier way to manage and participate in group email lists like SIM Trainer L called Mailman.  One of the benefits of Mailman is a web interface where you can manage your subscription settings, (i.e. update your contact information or unsubscribe to the list yourself).   The old KU list serve was REALLY old, maybe 20 years or so, so we are hoping the new one will be much easier to maintain and to use!

The Transition to Mailman:

  *    Lists will be moved automatically from the old host to Mailman on Monday, June 26.
  *   As of Monday, you will manage subscription settings for this list by logging in at https://lists.ku.edu/listinfo/simtrainer-l.  This site does not go active until Monday, so you can't try it now.
  *   You don't need to take any action to remain subscribed to this list.
  *    Our new mailing list address to send emails to the list serve will be:  simtrainer-l at lists.ku.edu<mailto:simtrainer-l at lists.ku.edu>.
  *    Be sure to update your address books and contact lists with the new list address because after Monday, the old sim trainer-l email address will not work anymore.
  *   If you send a message to the old Listproc address, you will receive an auto-response reminder that the list address has changed.

Please contact us if you have questions regarding the change from Listproc to Mailman, or if you experience any difficulties with the list serve after Monday.
