Good morning! I have been assigned a course in the fall that is online. I want to integrate SIM and CE into the course. Any ideas from all of you how I could do this? Does anyone have experience writing courses online with SIM and CE. I would really appreciate any help you could provide. Happy Summer!!
Best,
Jeanne

HI,
I love following the Teacher Manual and Cue Cards along with inserting an extra cue card with the most frequent prepositions listed to accompany a tune such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. In my Middle School classes, we used a large cereal Box, I think it was Honey Graham's or something similar because it had cartoons of bees on the box. We used pipe cleaners and cut-outs of cartoon bees with labels of each preposition to create a large bulletin board display. Students also created their own dioramas or other "environment" to create and label their own models. This was done either alone or in pairs or trios, etc, in class. Some did work on it at home. We had skateboard parks, surfing scenes, etc. Some of the students danced as we sang to practice memorizing the most frequent prepositions. We also filmed the song in one class, but to my disappointment, they did not dance.
Hope this helps.
Mandy

I remember teaching the preposition list using row row row your boat music. The other way I taught it was to use their classroom desk, like above the desk, around the desk, under the desk... I also think SIM has a graphic, a bee if I am not mistaken for teaching prepositions. Long ago I used the diagramming sentence method to teach my Special Ed students, because they loved to bridge prepositional phrases off of the main clause and make their diagrams big. I hope this helps.

Hi all!
I am wondering if any of you have a quick 10 minute lesson on prepositions in regards to the Fundamentals in Sentence Writing strategy.
I'm looking for something that is quick, hands-on, and engaging for 4th graders. Any and all ideas will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your help!
Happy summer!
