I hope you are well and enjoying the summer. You may have seen a recent e-mail about Core 34 syllabus requirements and signature assignments. This is a recent KBOR required curriculum adjustment. This email and the requirements only apply to those courses on
the Core 34 list. I have a list of these classes below. </div>

The Fall requirements are straightforward. Some where in your syllabus course description you need to clearly state the Core Goal you class fulfills. For example, POLS 110 syllabus will state that the course fulfills the Core Goal for Social and Behavioral
Sciences. </div>

According to the Provost office, this fall your CORE class syllabus should "clearly state the KU Core34 Goal they satisfy and the associated learning outcomes." I have the learning goal for each Core Goal below. You should use the same language (i.e. cut and
paste) in your syllabus.</div>

For the signature assignment, instructors for these classes need to start "identifying possible assignments." Defining and identifying a signature assignment is going to be a challenge. This sounds like a course capstone assignment, but the university is still
developing a rubric so they will send more information later.</div>
