On that note, you may be aware that we are running a bit behind this year, due to the delayed start of the semester, and uncertainty over the budget. Regardless, the good news is that we have sufficient funds for Thompson scholarships this summer. </div>

As I'd like to award students the Thompsons early in April to make formal announcements and recognize them during Phi Sigma (ideally), the deadline will be the end of March. </div>

This will allow me to ask students to apply by approximately 9th of April (a bit shorter than the standard 2 weeks I gave them in the past) and I'll make decisions quickly thereafter before 4/15. This would nearly conform to past decisions, accounting for the
delayed start. </div>
