 being able to approve a limited number of searches, so your hiring justifications need to clearly articulate the impact of each proposed  faculty hire to help us prioritize faculty searches across the College.  That said, your unit should make requests that

<b>It is preferable that you err on the high side of the potential start-up cost range</b>.  If the start-up is too low, the College (and potentially also the department) must fund any additional start-up funds required for a particular candidate.  The Dean’s
