and provide them with the flexibility to engage in experiential learning opportunities available in the fall and spring semesters.</span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Palatino Linotype",serif;color:#212121">We are reaching out to you seeking course proposal offerings for the College’s third winter session. Winter session courses will be offered online during winter break between
the dates of December 17<sup>th</sup>, 2018 – January 11<sup>th</sup>, 2019. Grades will be due by February 8<sup>th</sup>, 2018.</span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

learning outcomes without simply accelerating a 16 or 8 week course. All course design for winter session will be done in collaboration between instructors and CODL staff which will include regular meetings through the design process and support as needed
during the winter session dates. </span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

follows the same salary structure used for summer courses. </span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

additional section during winter. Courses taught on load could create opportunities for faculty to teach one less course during the fall or spring semester to allow them more time to focus on their research or other activities.</span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Palatino Linotype",serif;color:#212121">Each course should have a minimum cap of 20 students and a maximum of 35. Each course must have at least 12 students enrolled in order to be offered. We will review enrollment
carefully and make adjustments as needed. Given consultation with the College Online and CODL, courses may scale beyond 35.</span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Palatino Linotype",serif;color:#212121">Departments will receive 10% of the net tuition revenue generated from their intersession courses. These returns will be in the form of additional operating expense (OOE)
funds that can be used by the department at their discretion. For example, these funds could be used to provide additional faculty travel funds. We will be calculating the returns late in the spring semester and will return the funds at the beginning of
the next fiscal year. This will allow the department a full fiscal year to spend these funds in the year after they are generated.</span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
