Hi everyone,
It's getting close to graduation time again, and now it would be good to start thinking about someone to give a good word to the students (15-20 minutes). I was hoping for your feedback or suggestions about this. I can think of 3 possible trajectories-all of them are on the table and no one has been contacted, etc.
1. Clay Britton - graduated from KU as a POLS (and HIST) undergrad; then KU Law; then nice law firms; then Chief Counsel for Gov Kelly; currently Senior VP and General Counsel for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas
2. Do you have connections with anyone who would be a good person with a logical reason to be the speaker at graduation for POLS students?
3. We could give a list of faculty members to graduating seniors and let them nominate/vote for a faculty member to give the brief word to the students. (This is rather typical across departments-selecting a faculty member by students and/or faculty)
Let me know your thoughts about any of these. Especially if you have a good idea or connection to a possible speaker.
Best,
Mike
