[Pols-l] Call for Summer Courses

Hi John,

Hope you are having a wonderful break!

I've submitted two applications for developing online courses with the College/Dean's Office: POLS 150 (Introduction to Comparative Politics) and POLS 675 (Russian Foreign Policy). I could do either of those during the summer. What would you recommend—POLS 150, I suspect? I'm not sure about the enrollment, but maybe you have a sense of how many we can expect?

I also wanted to ask a couple of questions about these Dean's Office applications I submitted:
1. They required me to choose semesters when these courses would be taught, and the options were Spring and Fall. I indicated both, but do you think summer would be allowed too for these classes?
2. In the applications, the choice between a new course and a redesigned course was not very clear to me. In the end, in both cases, I was given an option to receive $4250, which suggests that I submitted both courses as new rather than redesigned. Is POLS 150 considered an already existing course that can only be redesigned? Will they let me know if I did this incorrectly?
3. Do you by any chance know when the College might get back to me about these applications? I didn't get any specific confirmation by email or anything about the next steps. I'll wait a bit, of course, just thought to ask if you know what the time horizon is for there opportunities.

I hope you are well. This is a call for summer courses. If you are interested in teaching a summer course, then send me the course number, name and estimated enrollment before October 30th.

There are more detailed criteria for the summer classes this year. The minimum enrollment for a regular semester is 12, but they are looking for about 25 for the online summer courses.
