Subject: Conference Support for Faculty Travel
POLS faculty,
Under our faculty research awards on our ICCAE grant, we can support one-two faculty who would like to attend this conference. I would recommend anyone interested that they should note that they are part of our IC CAE program when applying.
Thanks!

You are invited to participate in a two-day workshop titled, “Exploring the Foundations and Frontiers of Warning.” This workshop is scheduled for February 21-22, 2024, from 9am to 5pm at the Intelligence Research Education and Solutions (IRES) Laboratory, located in the Chevy Chase Pavilion, 5335 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20015. The event consists of a series of panel discussions and breakout sessions to discuss the warning mission in thematic areas. This event will provide you with the unique opportunity to interact with thought leaders from across the Intelligence Community and Academia to discuss the warning landscape using topics such as:
Impacts of Artificial Intelligence
Emerging threats from China
The Evolution of Terrorism
Predicting Mass Migration and
Preventing Transnational Organized Crime.
NIU is hosting this workshop to identify critical knowledge areas relevant and essential to effective strategic intelligence to strengthen the NIU curriculum in this area. Each workshop is focused on eliciting opinions, viewpoints, and discussions from diverse set of stakeholders.
Space is limited at IRES, so we are also offering a virtual connection. Please send RSVP’s no later than February 9th, 2024 to Alethea Madello at Alethea.J.Madello at odni.gov. Include your name, title, business email, and day telephone number. Again, space is limited so those individuals who will be participating in person will receive a confirmation letter that secures their reservation. Those individuals attending in person will also need to provide additional information for building access (details will be sent upon confirmation). Attendees who will be participating virtually will be sent the log on information prior to the event.
We are excited to host this event and your participation is vital. Please send questions via email to Alethea.J.Madello at odni.gov or call at 202-748-1619 (mobile).
Very Respectfully,
Alethea Madello
