Faculty Meeting Minutes
Political Science Department

February  17, 2023  11am meeting

Present:  John Kennedy, Chair, Kevin Mullinix, Clay Webb, Robert Rohrschneider, Michael Wuthrich
Gary Reich, Brittnee Carter, Hannah Britton, Sofia Vera, Nazli Avdan, Don Haider-Markel, Jack Zhang, Patrick Miller, Linda Pickerel, Administrative Associate

The meeting started with motion for prior meeting minute approval called for, seconded and approved.



John thanked Clay, and the search team for their work.

Clay did a quick review of the details of the candidates, and led a discussion of their strengths and weaknesses.

It was noted that none were unanimous in their ranking of the candidates.

CREES sees the top candidate as Anton.

There was first the vote for which candidates were deemed acceptable.

Second, there was the ranking vote, with lowest number being the top candidate.

This resulted in the following:
Anton Shirikov  (26)
Valery Dzutsati  (32)
Ashley Blum (34)
Amanda Zadorian (38)



Next meeting will be April 28 at 11 a.m., which will be meeting the new Dean of the College
and considering next hiring priorities, most likely involving American Politics
