Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity is seeking nominations for our 2022 Student Recognition Awards. Please see attached.



These awards were established to honor KU students whose work and leadership align with our mission and vision for a feminist future. Nominees for these awards have worked to advance gender equity and contribute to the enrichment and improvement of the campus and community through their service, teaching, or involvement as mentors and role models. Specific awards and requirements are listed below. Winners receive a monetary award.



To nominate someone for any of the following awards, please visit: https://emilytaylorcenter.ku.edu/recognition-awards. Nominations are due by Friday, April 1, 2022.



Ethel Bohning Single Parent Award

A single parent (primary caregiver) who is a full-time undergraduate woman (cis or trans) student and has completed 30 credit hours with a minimum GPA of 3.0.



Gender Equity in Action Award

An undergraduate student of any gender who has made significant contributions to gender equity on the KU campus with a minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.



Marlesa & Hannalesa Roney Student Success Mentor Award

An undergraduate or graduate woman (cis or trans) student who has contributed to the success of another student.



Outstanding International Woman Student

An undergraduate or graduate woman (cis or trans) student from a country other than the United States who has demonstrated academic achievement and has made a contribution to the campus and/or community through her involvement.



Outstanding Non-Traditional Woman Student

A non-traditional woman (cis or trans) student who has demonstrated academic achievement and has made a contribution to the campus and/or community through her involvement.



Outstanding Woman Student Advancing Athletics

An undergraduate or graduate woman (cis or trans) student who, through her overall excellence as an athlete and team member associated with KU athletic organizations or club sports, has contributed to the advancement of her sport and women’s athletics.



Outstanding Woman Student in Leadership

An undergraduate or graduate woman (cis or trans) student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills by taking an active role in campus or community organizations, developing a new project or addressing a current need.



Sally Mason Outstanding Woman Student in STEMM

An undergraduate woman (cis or trans) student in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine (STEMM) who has demonstrated academic excellence, involvement in campus activities, and leadership in her academic field with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
