[Pols-l] Department and Book Purchases

I hope you are well. This e-amil is about department book purchases. If you would like to have the department reimburse or directly purchase books for your research or class, then you need to use  completebook.com or the KU Bookstore.  Even though the University website says Mandatory Contracts and Preferred Contracts they are treated equally.  I received clarification from the University Purchasing Office that we have to go through these venders to get reimbursed.



Also, if the books cannot be found through Complete Book or the KU Bookstore and need to be purchased on Amazon or elsewhere (such as the Raven Book Store), we need to make sure tax is not being charged, as the State of Kansas is tax exempt.  Our department SSC budget officer has a tax exempt Amazon account if books need to be purchased through Amazon. You can contact Anya Waters (anyawaters at ku.edu<mailto:anyawaters at ku.edu>).
