[Pols-l] Sofia Vera and POLS

I hope you are well and enjoying the summer.



As you know, Sofia Vera was hired as a VAP in POLS last year when she came to KU with her husband who was hired an assistant professor in the School of Education.  Sofia has done a great job in the department, and she is a good fit for the comparative sub-field (for both research and teaching).  Since July 1st, I have had several meetings with College and the School of Education. Last Friday we received approval from the College to hire Sofia as a tenure track position pending department evaluation/approval.



The next step is to have a formal job talk and then a department vote.  I talked with Sofia, and she is ready for a talk on August 6th.  I propose a formal talk at 3:00 pm Friday, August 6th through Zoom and then a department vote on Friday, August 13th at 11:00 am also through Zoom.



Please send me an e-mail to verify whether you can attend these meetings. Once I confirm this day and time, I will send out the Zoom link.



I have attached Sofia’s CV.  Her teaching evaluations are very good, and I can send these upon request.
