Hello Professor Markel,

I hope you are doing well during these times. My name is Edmond Cheung, and I am reaching out on behalf of the KU Blockchain Institute (KUBI). We are a student organization working to increase student participation in blockchain research and striving to make Lawrence the tech-hub of the Midwest. We were wondering if you are (1) currently doing research relating to blockchain technology or (2) would be willing to mentor/advise students on independent blockchain projects.

At KUBI, we are creating a platform to promote blockchain research at the University and allow students interested in blockchain research to connect with faculty conducting it. If you are conducting blockchain-related research or would be willing to mentor students, we are wondering if you would partner with us and allow us to list your research and contact info on our platform. Our platform can promote your research and allow you to recruit research assistants for your work, and we are also working to help make grant funding for blockchain research available through our platform.
