Dear Colleague,



CTE is in full swing this fall! In case you missed these notices in our e-newsletter, here are some reminders, as well as some updates:



Course Transformation Grants:

CTE is offering Course Transformation Grants of up to $3000 to faculty to support the implementation of student-centered, evidence-based, and inclusive teaching practices that improve the learning experiences of KU students. Proposals for AY2021-22 are due Tuesday, September 7. Submit your application through this portal<https://cte.ku.edu/Course_Transformation_Grants>.



Virtual Workshops:

This fall, CTE will continue to offer hour-long virtual workshops that are focused on faculty interests. Note these topics, dates, and session times (details<https://cte.ku.edu/fall-2021-virtual-workshops> and registration here):

  *   September 14, 3 PM: Preparing students for success in math-intensive courses: Mapping the cross-disciplinary math curriculum
  *   September 17, 12 PM: Having fun and making a difference in the classroom: Tips for instructors
  *   September 24, 2 PM: Addressing disinformation in the classroom
  *   Oct. 1, 12 PM: Building student confidence and resiliency through the lens of diversity



Working Groups/Learning Communities:

The Canvas Users Working Group, a collaboration among CTE, CODL and IT, will meet this week at noon Wednesday and at 11:30 AM Thursday on Microsoft Teams. The group is open to all instructors, staff members and GTAs who will use Canvas.



After this week, the group will meet on the first Wednesday (noon) and Thursdays (11:30 AM) of each month on Teams. You may join the group here:

The Flex and Online Teaching Working Group will meet this semester at noon September 20, October 18, and November 22. If you are interested in joining, contact Doug Ward<mailto:dbward at ku.edu?subject=Flex%20and%20Online%20Teaching%20Working%20Group>.



Meetings for the Teaching at a Predominantly White Institution (PWI) Learning Community are being scheduled. Stay tuned for more about this group.
