Hello,

I would like to extend an invitation to you all for the September Lunchtime Conversation on Equity and Inclusion. The September Lunchtime Conversation on Equity and Inclusion is with KU Theatre and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens for the stage. Michelle Hefner Hayes, the Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance and Co-Director of the School of the Arts joins us once again to discuss The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. This critically acclaimed play is about Christopher, a teenage boy speculated to be on the Autism Spectrum. The Department of Theatre decided to audition only people who identify on the spectrum themselves. Even though it is widely recognized that Christopher is on the spectrum, the first time someone on the spectrum was cast for this production was in November of 2017, five years after its opening night.

I hope that you are able to come to this Conversation from 12-1, in Forum C of the Burge Union.
