Good morning all,

I am sending this along as follow-up to yesterday’s Chairs & Directors meeting, to seek your assistance in making sure your faculty and staff are aware of the pending deadline to enroll in their health plan for next year. The plan you’ve had this year will not automatically renew – everyone must sign up again for their plan for next year. If you do not, you will default to Plan N, which we have been told is a subpar plan. Thank you for your assistance in raising awareness about this deadline.

Dear College Colleagues:

I am writing to urge those of you who have not yet done so to complete your open enrollment for your State Employee Health Insurance Plan (SEHP). As you may know, this year is "active enrollment," which means that the state requires us to re-enroll for our health insurance plan. Even if you like the plan that you currently have, you must enroll for it again. This is due by the end of the day on October 31.

To keep the medical plan in which you are currently enrolled, or to switch to some other plan of your choosing, you must log into the Membership Administrative Portal<http://humanresources.ku.edu/ready-enroll> (MAP) and make a selection. If you neglect this task, you will default to Plan N, which I have been told provides very subpar benefits.

If you need assistance understanding the differences among employee health insurance plans<http://humanresources.ku.edu/seminars-webinars-and-benefits-fair> or signing up<http://humanresources.ku.edu/tools-and-resources> in MAP, Ask Alex<https://www.myalex.com/kansassehp/2019> -- a new interactive tool -- is available to help guide you. Please also note that Delta Dental coverage is available as a standalone choice (as is Surency Vision) for those of you who do not need medical coverage through SEHP.

Your actions during open enrollment this month will have a significant impact on your welfare this coming year.  Please do not delay in researching your options and making the best choice for you and your families by October 31.
