Subject: University Honors Program - opportunity for current students
--Sent on behalf of Bryan Young, University Honors Program Director--
Fellow chairs and directors, please share with your departmental colleagues! I greatly appreciate your help in getting the word out!
The mission of the University Honors Program is to challenge students to launch extraordinary lives. We work to build an inclusive, diverse community of students who are committed to academic excellence, and faculty recommendations are one of the most important ways students find their way to Honors.
If you know any outstanding KU students who are not yet a part of the program, please encourage them to attend one of our upcoming sessions and to apply to the Honors Program.
The University Honors Program will host informational sessions in the Kansas Union on 11/29 and 11/30 for current KU students who are interested in the Honors Program. Assistant Director and Head of Admissions, Gabby Young, and Honors Admissions Representative, Ellie Eastes, will discuss the benefits of the Honors Program and the application process. Benefits of the University Honors Program include challenging, seminar-style classes; individualized advising from Honors advisors and Honors Faculty Mentors; and Honors Opportunity Awards to support co-curricular engagement.
11/29 @ 2:30pm in the Pine Room of the Kansas Union
11/30 @ 12:00pm in the Centennial Room of the Kansas Union
Interested students can apply on our website here.<http://honors.ku.edu/current-and-transfer-students> Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and due no later than two weeks before the start of each semester. Please let us know if you have any questions!
With thanks,
Bryan
