[Pols-l] Changing POLS 301 Major Requirment

I suggest you do not list a specific set of courses in any guidelines.
Instead, say they have to pick from the listings for Diversity and
Social Justice and then the Undergrad Director would have a list. It
was--is?--that way on "what counts as US politics" or IR or whatnot. If
you do this, you can have the same courses on list, but undergrad
director has some freedom to negotiate as times change. For example, if
I were back there full time, there would be "Social Choice and Game
Theory" which was, actually, on the official registry of diversity
courses at one point.
Please consider leaving introduction to Political Theory as a course
that fulfills this. You are more likely to have grad students who can
teach that.
Also I'd leave a back door on this, create a "Topics in Diversity and
Social Justice: _____" course, numbered in the 300s.
This is how both EEB and HIST did it when they killed off the one
required thing. If you number this topics in thing in the 300s, then we
can conceivably have graduate students teach it.
