Talking About Teaching: Ways to Initiate and Sustain Teaching Conversations with Peers
Please register by Tuesday, February 28
In this interactive session, we'll consider how KU faculty members have successfully generated teaching conversations with other faculty members and kept those conversations going. We'll also talk about how you might draw upon your peers' knowledge and experiences as they have developed their careers. With Mark Mort, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Meagan Patterson, Educational Psychology.

Tuesday, March 28, 12 to 1 PM
Got Apathy? Teaching Strategies for Fostering Student Engagement and Enhancing Performance
Please register by Monday, March 27
It is sad for all concerned when students appear to have little interest in learning, or in doing quality work. The good news is that there are many things teachers can do to enhance both interest and understanding. In this workshop, we will unpack the issue of student motivation and the factors that influence it. Participants will explore the current sources of student motivation in their courses and identify specific strategies for improving engagement and the resulting learning. With Dan Bernstein and Andrea Greenhoot, CTE/Psychology.
