KU's University Awards committee is now accepting nominations for the 2018 University Awards.

The University Awards are among the most prestigious awards presented at KU. These awards were established to recognize students who embody service excellence, dedication, or whose academic achievements remain stellar.

Each recipient is recognized during a surprise in-class presentation, and the award recipients' photos are included in the Commencement Program.

Eligibility criteria
The University Awards are designated for graduating seniors, with the exception of the Rusty Leffel Concerned Student Award, which can be bestowed to any classification of student. A nomination is not needed to apply for any University Award.

Nominations
Students may be nominated by a faculty/staff member or friend. Nominations forms<https://studentaffairs.ku.edu/university-awards> are completed and submitted online. The student will be notified of the nomination and will need to submit a completed University Awards application. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Jan 29, 2018.

Applications
Each application must include:

*         Completed application form<https://studentaffairs.ku.edu/university-awards>

*         Current resume or curriculum vitae, including a list of activities

*         Personal statement

*         Contact information for the person who will submit one letter of recommendation

Without being nominated, a student may complete a University Award application and submit it online to the University Awards committee.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Feb. 12, 2015.
