Friends:

It's never too early to start the process of recruiting interns for our DC and Topeka programs. Next year will be the 35th (!) DC class of interns, and the Topeka program, revitalized in the late 1980s, has been going for more than 30 years. That's more than 1500 interns taking part over the years. It's been great academically, and we have scores (hundreds) of former interns with political/policy careers due to the program.

We will meet Monday April 17, 6:30, Blake 206

Our two best ways to get the word out are through posters in Blake Hall and elsewhere and through our faculty friends a and supporters both in political science, but especially around the University.

Increasingly we are seeing interns from a wide range of majors and backgrounds, including the sciences, engineering, business, and the arts. Public policy touches everything that we do, and there is a DC or Topeka internship for every interest.

I'm attaching material that I hope you will share with your students and fellow faculty members. I'm including a 2018 program update, a list of ALL DC interns over our past 34 years -a truly remarkable range - and a listing of our programs for the past year in DC. Again, something for everyone.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get back in touch with me. We are definitely hoping to make our 35th class the best ever.

Cordially, with thanks in advance,

Bird Loomis
