[Pols-l] updates due 10/11

Attached is my vita. My Rawls and Obama paper will be in print shortly.

You can use the following for my statement in the Newsletter, unless you don't like it:

Facing the prospect of guns in the classroom and the
possibility of Trump in the oval office, Professor Schumaker has been
contemplating accelerating his transition from phased to full retirement.

If you would prefer something a bit less cheeky, you can say:
As retirement approaches, Professor Schumaker continues to plug away on a book length manuscript called Ethical Pluralism: The Role of Justice and Ethical Principles in Community Politics

Though I am still keeping open the possibility of returning for my third year of phased retirement, the chances are remote and would involve teaching a single course (301 or - more likely, 302) in Spring 2018! I have no idea what the theory offerings will be after the end of the current semester. Hopefully Ben Jones, Brittnee Carter, or either of my two current GTAs (Sara Miller or Marcus Williamson) would be available. Hannah could probably be convinced to teach feminist theory.

Cheers,

Subject: [Pols-l] updates due 10/11

Colleagues, happy equinox; we are starting to collect information for our fall newsletter and a summary sheet for potential donors.

We'd like your assistance.

By 10/11 please send me your current vita (generate from PRO if you'd like) and 2 sentences about your activity over the past 12 months or so.

Please also help us identify undergraduate students that would be good candidates for spotlight stories in the newsletter.

Thank you for your attention.
