Subject: CTE Course Transformation Grants
Greetings CTE Ambassadors-please share this announcement with your department colleagues:
*********************************************************************
The Center for Teaching Excellence invites proposals for grants to support faculty course transformation efforts during the 2016-2017 academic year. These grants are intended to support incorporation of student-centered, inclusive, and evidence-based teaching practices in KU courses. We are especially interested in funding projects that involve teams of faculty working on the design of one or more course (e.g., collaboration between two people who teach the same course, using changes to one course to inform changes to a related course).

The following grants are available (see attached RFPs for additional details-priority deadline is Sept 22):

* C21 Course Transformation Grants, for faculty in non-STEM disciplines, are made possible through C21 funding from the Provost's Office.

* TRESTLE Course Transformation Grants, for STEM faculty, are funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF project #1525775).

* TRESTLE Travel Grants, also through the NSF grant, for teams of STEM faculty to make site visits to learn about course transformations at another university (note that non-STEM faculty could propose to use the C21 grants in this way).
Interested applicants are invited to attend the next session of C21, to find out about our working groups, develop and receive feedback on their plans for course transformation this year (Friday, September 16, 2-3:30 in The Commons). Please respond to this very brief survey<http://kuclas.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_bk3x5gpAlPMPxnn> if you have an interest in connecting with one the C21 working groups.

For questions about these grants, please contact CTE's Course Transformation Program Manager, Stephanie Becker (sdbecker at ku.edu<mailto:sdbecker at ku.edu>).

Sincerely,
Dea
