Greetings KU CLAS Directors and Chairs:


The University of Kansas McNair Scholars Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, is designed to prepare undergraduate students for graduate study and eventual careers in university teaching and research.   Applications are currently being accepted for the 2015-2016 academic year.  In order to qualify for participation in the McNair Scholars Program, students must be sophomores, juniors or seniors (graduating December 2017 or later) who are either: low-income, first-generation college students or from groups currently underrepresented in graduate education (African American, Native American, and Hispanic).  In addition, applicants must have at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA and plan to attend graduate school.

We ask that you share this information with your students and other faculty and staff.  Please encourage those who have the interest and meet the qualifications to contact us as soon as possible at mcnair at ku.edu or call our offices at 864-3412.
