Colleagues, they have put out the summer 2017 call for budget requests. I would need to know if you would like to teach a course this summer, which course, and expected enrollment by Dec. 12.
Currently most in-person summer courses cannot draw enough students to go forward, but online courses are allowed to go forward even with a dozen students.
I encourage you to request to teach an upper division online course in the summer if you are looking to make extra money. The payment for each course is dependent on enrollment but some faculty are able to draw enough students to make the same amount they would make for a course during the academic year. Those of you with online courses prepped are in the best postion to take this opportunity with the least time commitment.
We typically allocate 1xx courses to graduate students for the teaching experience but I will let you know if we have gaps there.
Thanks for your attention.
