<i>Dr. Mariya Y. Omelicheva</i> is a Professor of Strategy at National War College, National Defense University, with substantive interests and expertise in international and Eurasian security, Russia's foreign and security policy, gender and security, and
crime-terror nexus in Eurasia. She is the author of multiple books and peer-reviewed articles on these topics, including, COVID-19 'Humanitarianism': Geopolitical Logics of Chinese, American and Russian Assistance (Brill 2024), Counterterrorism Policies in
Central Asia (Routledge 2011), Democracy in Central Asia: Competing Perspectives and Alternate Strategies (University Press of Kentucky 2015), and Webs of Corruption: Trafficking-Terrorism Nexus in Central Asia (Columbia University Press, 2019, with Lawrence
Markowitz). Dr. Omelichva's research has allowed her to engage with a broad audience, spanning policy makers, journalists, and the general public. She has been privileged to work closely with a range of private and public organizations (e.g., U.S. Helsinki
Commission, U.S. House of Representatives, US Department of State's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, diplomatic personnel).</div>

Dr. Brittnee Carter is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Kansas. Her research investigates the roles of culture and society on international conflict and political violence and foreign policy responses to those security challenges.
She is a member of the board of the Foreign Policy Analysis section of the International Studies Association and is a director of the Mentored Scholars Program at KU. Her recent project and publications examine foreign policy preferences to human rights violations,
the impacts and origins of female radicalization in developing societies, and the role of female leadership during conflict and crisis. Her book, COVID-19 'Humanitarianism': Geopolitical Logics of Chinese, American and Russian Assistance was published by Brill
in 2024.</div>
