of a hybrid or fully online class was synchronous (i.e., meeting virtually at a specific time) or asynchronous (i.e., not meeting at a specific time). The registrar’s office defaulted to synchronous when this was not clearly specified.

<b><i><u><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Cohorts</span></u></i></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">. There is some confusion about cohorts. If you are doing weekly cohorts (e.g. a Tuesday cohort
and a Thursday cohort), the registrar has divided the class into cohorts for you. This should be correct but it was done with a new tool that we have not used before. If you notice any issues, please report them to me</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">.
If you are doing <b><i><u>alternating week cohorts</u></i></b> (e.g., even weeks vs. odd weeks), the registrar was not able to do that because that requires them to assign class dates to each cohort. That was far too cumbersome to accomplish with the number
of changes they had to key in within a short timeframe. In this situation, the instructor will need to break the class into cohorts and communicate the cohort assignments and the meeting dates for each cohort to the students. This is noted in the schedule
of classes as ALTW (see attachment for example).</span></li><li class="x_MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;margin-bottom:12.0pt; mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">
