KU Political Science Recognition of graduates will be May 16

Spring semester graduates, be sure to Apply for Graduation on Enroll & Pay by March 3!    The Political Science Department's recognition of graduate's (BA, BGS) ceremony will be on May 16th, 6:30pm and is tentatively planned for Woodruff Auditorium, Kansas Union.  Mark your calendars and watch for more details via email.
It is recommended that graduates keep guests to a few to be sure everyone can find a seat to watch the ceremony.

What is Pi Sigma Alpha?   Pi Sigma Alpha is the National Honor Society for Political Science.  The KU chapter is the GAMMA chapter, and the criteria for KU's chapter is below.  New initiates will be recognized along with our KU Political Science Department awards event, tentatively scheduled for April 18, 2025.  More details to come.  Those interested please contact Linda Pickerel (lpicke at ku.edu<mailto:lpicke at ku.edu>) in the department office.  There is a onetime membership charge and the department orders all of the memberships together, which will include the cords, and also a medallion for those students getting departmental honors.  Gamma Chapter criteria is as follows:

  Undergraduate Students should have completed at least one-half the credits required for the baccalaureate degree, be currently enrolled, 15 completed semester hours of Political Science courses, 3.5 GPA in all Political Science courses, with no grade lower than a "B", and 3.4 GPA overall.

  Graduate students with 12 completed semester hours of Political Science, currently enrolled, and 6 semester hours must be 700 level or above.  3.5 GPA in all Political Science graduate courses with no grade lower than a "B", Overall 3.5 GPA in all graduate courses, with no grade lower than a "B"
