Greetings,

I’m Jackson DeAndrea, an Administrative Associate for Institutional Initiatives at the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas. On behalf of Dole Institute Director Audrey Coleman, I’d like to invite students in your academic programs and your department’s faculty to participate in the upcoming Election Administration Symposium at the Institute from February 15-16, 2024.

This two-day event will seek to evaluate how we can bolster funding and protections for resilient elections here in Kansas and around the country. We’re proud to be partnering with the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate to bring this important discussion to Kansas.

The symposium will kick off on Thursday evening at 7 p.m., with a public program featuring Douglas County Clerk Jamie Shew and Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab. Then, beginning Friday morning at 9 a.m., election practitioners, fellow students, and Friends of the Dole Institute will hear from policy experts who have been researching this important topic.

Thursday’s event is open to the public at no charge. For students or faculty interested in attending the symposium’s Friday sessions, we ask that they please register to attend by filling out the online form available on our website. A buffet lunch will be provided during Friday’s sessions, so please inform us of any dietary restrictions when filling out the form. Attendees who complete their registration by February 9 will be guaranteed a lunch. Registration for the symposium’s Friday sessions will close on February 14.
