[Pols-announce] From Linda in KU POLS Dept. office

Welcome, from the KU Political Science office, to the Fall 2023 semester!

 As we head to the Fall semester, I'm reaching out on behalf of the department so we can be on the same page on some things.  As of this writing, we are still awaiting some more chairs in at least one of the classrooms, which I have been assured will get done, and a furniture move by facilities  for one of the offices.  New GTAs, be sure to arrange with me (Linda) to pick up your keys to your office.

Some new office supplies are available in the cabinet in 504B, the room is also the kitchen area with coffee, microwave, and refrigerator.  There is paper in the copier room in 504A.  New GTAs be sure to send me a five digit number that you are able to remember that I can set up as your copier code.  There are mailboxes for faculty and grad students in the office, 504 Blake, as well.

Unfortunately, I am still waiting for HR to finish processing many of the new GTAs to the point where they can be added on to the course schedule.  I am hoping to be able to do this soon.  GTAs be sure to be checking in with the instructors you are helping and if you need me to help print up a roster or something, I can probably do this for you. I will get your on the course schedule as soon as I am able.

The staff<https://kups.ku.edu/staff> and the GTAs, and their offices are also listed below.  I will actually be out of the office next Friday, but I think we will have a student hourly employee out at the main desk that you can check with in the afternoons, and I will be sure to follow up as needed the next week.  It will be great having Avery Strathman and Hannah Loub back to help in the office.  In addition to our regular office duties, the office will be helping promote National Voter Registration Day, and registering to vote and voting, along with like minded departments and organizations, such as the Dole institute and the Center for Service Learning, this year.
