For those who knew Bird, Professor Burdett Loomis' son, Dakota, posted this about the Celebration of Life for him on Nov. 7, 1-3

Please join our family in celebrating the life of Burdett "Bird" Loomis at the Grove behind the Spencer Museum of Art. A short program will commence at 2 pm with libations, coffee, and cookies for all. If there is inclement weather, the celebration will be held at The Union.

As many of you know, Bird dedicated years to directing the KU Washington D.C. Internship Program.
