Dwight Eisenhower/Clifford Roberts Graduate Fellowship: Call for Applications

The Eisenhower Institute is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to perpetuating Dwight D. Eisenhower's legacy by fostering integrity and trust in the federal government, promoting broader understanding of democracy, and supporting leadership in public service.

The fellowship award amount is $10,000, which will be divided into $5,000 for the fall and $5,000 for the spring semesters. Applicants should be at an advanced stage of their doctoral candidacies, preferably at the point of preparing their dissertations. All students in good academic standing are eligible to apply, regardless of U.S. citizenship or residency.

Each application must include the following information:
* The applicant's curriculum vitae
* A statement describing the nature and scope of the dissertation, including a timetable for its completion
* A statement, not exceeding 1,000 words, of the applicant's career aspirations
* A writing sample of 10-15 pages, preferably on a topic related to the dissertation
* Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from the applicant's doctoral advisor. These letters should be sent directly from the reference writers to graduateawards at ku.edu<mailto:graduateawards at ku.edu> and should not be seen by the applicants.

All application materials must be submitted received via this <https://deptsec.ku.edu/~gradstudies/forms/form/13> form and recommendation letters should be sent to graduateawards at ku.edu<mailto:graduateawards at ku.edu> no later than Sunday, March 14, 2021.

Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award: Call for Nominations
The Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award Foundation has invited the University of Kansas to submit nominations for the Sherman and Irene Dreiseszun Scholarships. The foundation recognizes the awardees of these scholarships at their annual banquet each May which the awardees must attend (this year's banquet will be virtual). The foundation places special emphasis on conflict resolution. Nominees must be KU students pursuing courses of study in the general areas of international relations and diplomacy. In addition, nominees may be either US citizens or foreign nationals and must demonstrate potential for a career in or contribution to international service.
Each completed nomination must be submitted using the form on the Graduate Studies website<https://graduate.ku.edu/truman-award> by March 21. Nominations must be submitted electronically; no paper nominations will be accepted.
