Women in the World:
Global Poverty, Gender, & Race
Tuesday, September 1, 11 am-Noon

Around the world women and girls are disproportionately affected by poverty. Women earn 60-75% of men’s wages on average. Seventy-nine countries have laws that restrict the types of work women do. Globally, women are less likely to own land, receive a secondary education, have access to a bank, and in low income communities, maternal mortality rates skyrocket. These stats are higher for women of color. This inequality has been further highlighted by Covid-19. Organized by the International Relations Council. Global Jayhawk Happy Hour: Vision Board
Thursday, September 3, 4:00-5:00 pm

A vision board represent goals and aspirations. Using pictures and words, we'll create a collage of your goals for the fall. Via contactless delivery to your home, ISS will provide you with a vision board kit with everything needed for your project: old magazines, poster board, scissors, glue stick (if you already these, you do not need to sign up, you can just join us on Zoom!) Log on to Zoom and we'll guide you through the process while we hang out and chat!
