A Powerful, Prevailing Truth: Women in Politics a Century After Suffrage
Thursday, March 5 at 7 pm
In the century since women gained the vote with the ratification of the 19th amendment, the role of women in the political sphere has increased dramatically in some ways with little advancement in others. Barbara Ballard, Susan Concannon, Vicki Schmidt and Ponka-We Victors will share their experiences as women in politics and the importance of women in public service and the political realm. This event is co-sponsored by the Political Science Department of KU.

Wednesday, March 18 at 4pm
Dr. Greg Treverton, former chairman of the National Intelligence Council, joins Fellow Ron Marks for the fourth discussion group of the spring semester. Treverton and Marks will explore what new power structures might look like in this century as the cyber world has demolished those from the last. The Dole Discussion Groups are made possible by a grant from Newman’s Own.
