Good morning,

Larry Hoyle and Carlos Zambrana are offering LAS 792 – Research Data Management in Fall 2020. This course focuses on the concepts and skills needed to perform the steps needed to prepare data for analysis, as well as document data for preservation and reuse. These include:

  *   Data cleaning
  *   Data integration
  *   Data selection
  *   Data transformation
  *   Data reduction



This course is intended to give students a functional foundation for these tasks. Students will learn basic data-wrangling skills using a set of tools including Python, SAS, Regular Expressions, and SQL. The importance of structured metadata is also stressed.
