All University of Kansas students actively pursuing interests in Russian, East European & Eurasian Studies in any KU academic program are eligible to submit an essay of approximately 2,000 words on any topic dealing with the region.

Undergraduate Award: $250 cash prize
Graduate Award: $500 cash prize & $75 book fund
All essays must be 12-pt font, double-spaced.

Submit an anonymous version of the essay to the CREES office or email to crees at ku.edu<mailto:crees at ku.edu> (subject header: “LastName Laird Essay”). Please say whether it is a graduate or undergraduate essay.
