Hi everyone,

In cooperation with the Center for Migration Research, the Hall Center has added a new, one-year seminar on “Migration” to its lineup of seminars, co-chaired by Liz MacGonagle (Director of Kansas African Studies Center), and Marta Caminero-Santangelo (Director of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies) and me.  The Hall Center is asking that we not publicize individual events since these are meant to be working groups of works-in-progress rather than presentations or “talks.”  If you are interested in receiving notice of individual speakers / papers for the Migration Seminar this year, you will need to click on this link to be added to the Hall Center’s mailing list:

Here is a reminder from the Hall Center about the new format:

In order to maintain the seminars as an environment where presenters feel comfortable sharing works in progress, we ask that conveners help us limit promotional material to those created by the Hall Center. In the past, sharing of seminar information on social media and departmental calendars have created the perception that they are public events and pushed the presentations to more of a lecture format.
