Subject: NEW: Report It Page Now Live
Hello,
In partnership with KU IT and the Office of the Provost, Student Senate has created a new, centralized reporting page for all Lawrence campus students, faculty, staff, and even visitors. The new service, known simply as "Report It," can be accessed by visiting ReportIt.ku.edu<http://reportit.ku.edu/>.
The premise of the service is to save time and energy for anyone looking to report something on our campus by offering all online reporting forms and links in one centralized web page. This means that whether someone needs to report a Wi-Fi outage in their dorm or a broken water fountain in Wescoe Hall, they need only to use "Report It" to get the information or connections they're looking for. The link provided on the Report It page will take Jayhawks directly to a reporting form or department page where they can fill out the information necessary to get the help they need.
Beyond just reporting issues with facilities on campus, the page also hosts links for reporting more serious matters like sexual assault and hazing, so that students in crisis can spend less time searching for help and more time getting the care they need. We hope to expand this section in the future to incorporate even more links to save people time and keep everyone safe.
While this is only the first phase of development for the site, we hope you all will take advantage of this centralized list of resources moving forward. Please understand that this service could have some glitches and errors at first, but we hope to resolve these issues quickly to make this page a standard model for safety on a college campus.
We hope that you will share this information with members of your respective departments so they can begin to utilize this new service and help make our campus better and more responsive spread the word to colleagues. We will review analytics on the site to find what aspects of ReportIt.ku.edu work well and what need revision, but that can only happen if we have people using the service.
Lastly, there is a space on the page for offering suggestions for new links, feedback on the page, and any other comments you wish to make. If you have thoughts, please don't hesitate to submit a comment through the form built into the page. The form can be accessed by clicking the "About" tab<http://reportit.ku.edu/about-site> on the menu and clicking the "Help Improve the Site" button. If possible, we would like to have all edits and suggestions submitted by April 19th, so they can be incorporated into the next round of updates.
We hope this page will advance the effort to keep everyone on this campus safe. Thank you all for your commitment to this University and Rock Chalk!
All the best,
Noah Ries
