I hope you're well! I'm offering 2 open sessions of a workshop in mid-October which may be of interest to you, your colleagues, postdocs, and grad students. I'm reaching out to you because I've been to your class or department at some point presenting similar content or you are otherwise involved in OA at KU (Board, Liaisons). Title: Increasing the Visibility & Impact of your Research



Offered Thursday, October 18, 2:00 - 3:30 and Monday, October 22, 9:30 - 11:00 in Watson 455 (same workshop; offered twice for schedule flexibility)



Blurb: Our impact and value as scholars is being measured and assessed by administrators, tenure and promotion committees, and funding agencies at ever-increasing levels. As the demand that we publish and demonstrate value grows, our time to manage a dizzying array of tools like Academia.edu and ResearchGate seems ever-diminishing. Along with these developments, Open Access has become a common and normative fact of academic publishing in 2018. In this presentation Josh Bolick from the KU Libraries' Shulenburger Office of Scholarly Communication & Copyright will provide an overview of shifts in the publishing landscape, tools that support greater visibility and impact, and present a consumable plan for increasing your digital research presence.
